Can you run:
 > echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH

And
 > ldd usr/local/lib/pd/extra/aubio.pd_linux

Also, if you know where libaubio got installed, can you ls -l the
file?

My bet is that it is in /usr/local/lib and that is not in your
LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.
